Project Description

The Rotary Club of Kathmandu, in collaboration with 13 other Rotary clubs under the President Action Group, successfully organized a student support at Shree Nagarjun Secondary School, Tarkeshwor Municipality, on 15 December 2025. During the program, stationery materials, sports equipment, and a water filter were distributed to 408 students, supporting their educational needs, physical development, and access to safe drinking water. The program was conducted in the gracious presence of Past District Governor Yogendra Man Pradhan.
This initiative reflects Rotary’s strong commitment to service above self and aligns closely with Rotary International’s Seven Areas of Focus. By supporting education through stationery distribution, the program contributes to Basic Education and Literacy. The provision of sports materials promotes Disease Prevention and Treatment by encouraging physical activity and healthy lifestyles. Similarly, the installation of a water filter directly supports Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene, ensuring students have access to clean and safe drinking water. Such holistic interventions help create a healthier learning environment and empower young students for a better future.
Presidents of various Rotary clubs were present at the program, demonstrating unity and collaboration among Rotary leaders. Notably, President Rajendra Gautam of the Rotary Club of Kathmandu actively participated alongside other club presidents, reinforcing the collective commitment of Rotary to community development, youth empowerment, and sustainable service initiatives. The worth of the project was NRs. 535,000.
