Project Description

The Rotary Club of Kathmandu, in partnership with various Rotary Clubs, successfully completed the construction of a gender-specific toilet block at Shree Gwagha Secondary School, Chandrakot RM-2, Gulmi.

The facility includes two separate sanitation spaces, a traditional sanitary pad disposal system, and a handwashing station. This project will benefit over 200 students and the local community, promoting better hygiene and a healthier learning environment.
Access to safe and private toilet facilities is essential to empower girls-it enables them to manage menstrual hygiene with dignity, reduces absenteeism, and ensures they can attend school confidently without interruption.

By ensuring proper sanitation facilities, this initiative is expected to increase school attendance among girls during their menstrual periods and help every child learn with dignity and confidence. The project was handed over to school by Rajendra Gautam, President of Rotary Club of Kathmandu and team. The project is worth of NRs. 400,000.
