Description
Rotary International has successfully sponsored a number projects designed to improve water and sanitation in communities throughout our planet. This project will improve drinking water, sanitary facilities and behavioral change on hygiene in three remote schools in Far-Western Nepal through construction of child-friendly sanitation and water supply facilities, reduce absenteeism among teenage girls who attend those schools by providing reusable sanitary napkins during menstruation and employ local women in the production of those hygienic products for the sustainable future. This project aims to achieve three star rating as guided by WASH in School Guideline developed by Government of Nepal and will adopt the approach of 7 Flag Approach for Total Sanitation (7FATS) developed by World Health Organization to achieve three star rating in all program schools. It is consistent with Rotary Water and Sanitation Guidelines for Global Grant Funding (July 2018) regarding Water, Sanitation and Hygiene in Schools (WIN) and Menstrual Hygiene Management in Schools (MHM). The project will directly benefit the students, teachers and residents of these communities. Additionally it should be noted that this project have substantial support from District 5130 Clubs , and seven Rotary Clubs outside of 5130 in addition to the Host Club.
